6 Businesses Cited For Underage Alcohol Sales
An undercover operation conducted by the Cherokee County Marshal's Office and the Department of Revenue - Alcohol Tobacco Division.

ACWORTH, GA -- Six southwest Cherokee County establishments were cited this week for selling alcohol to an underage person.
The citations followed a joint operation conducted by the Cherokee County Marshal's Office and the Department of Revenue - Alcohol Tobacco Division, which identified businesses and restaurants that were selling alcohol to residents under 21.
There were 25 locations checked in the Acworth area, and the "undercover operative was successful in purchasing alcoholic beverages from 6 of the 25 establishments that were checked," the Marshal's Office said.

Chief Ron Hunton said the agency will continue to periodically check businesses for these violations and "encourages business owners to educate and warn their employees on the ramifications and dangers of selling alcohol to underage persons."

- S & H Food Mart, 5904 Bells Ferry Road, Acworth, GA 30102
- Maheen Food Mart, 6790 Bells Ferry Road, Acworth, GA 30102
- Walmart Supercenter, 6435 Bells Ferry Road, Woodstock, GA 30189
- Best Bar & Grill, 5735 Bells Ferry Road, Acworth, GA 30102
The store clerks were cited for underage alcohol sales and have a pending court date. The Marshal's Office notes it will continue these type of operations, and anyone who wishes to report an establishment allowing minors to purchase alcohol is asked to contact the agency at 678-493-6200.
