Carmel Elementary School First Graders Make Collaborative Art Together

The first grade students at Carmel Elementary School were recently studying the standards of 3‐dimensional sculptures and installation. They were learning how artists can make art that is intended to be viewed by the public. The students sculptured their organic bottle art with tin foil and colored tissue paper. The students were asked to choose either a cool or warm color scheme to cover their bottles. Once finished, we added the bottles to the stand to make a dynamic visual art installation. The Chihuly tree is based off of Dale Chihuly’s organic glass blown sculptures. Empty bottles were transformed into a collaborative piece of art!
