Authorities Identify Body Discovered in Lake

Marietta woman had been swimming in the area Saturday, according to Cherokee County Police.

The body discovered in Lake Allatoona on Sunday morning has been identified, according to Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Ann Carlotta, 33, of Marietta, had reportedly been swimming in the area on Saturday, according to a police release.

Her body was discovered in the water near the Kellogg Creek Day use area. She was identified by family members and acquaintances.

“Detectives continue to piece together the events leading up to her death but currently no foul play is suspected,” according to a Cherokee Police statement.

Deputies responded to the scene after a boater reported seeing the body, according to the AJC. The body was reportedly found in three feet of water about 20 fee from the shore.

An autopsy is expected Tuesday, according to WSBTV.
