Boyfriend Indicted For Killing Mom Found Dead By Children
Michael Keith Russell is accused of fatally strangling and beating Christy Waller, 41, in early March at an apartment complex in Woodstock.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- A Cherokee County grand jury this week indicted a defendant on charges he killed his girlfriend earlier this year in Woodstock. The grand jury indicted Michael Keith Russell on one count each of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery under the Family Violence Act and false imprisonment and two counts of aggravated assault under Family Violence.
Russell has been charged with killing 41-year-old Christy Waller, who was found dead by her two children in early March, Woodstock police previously told Patch.
According to the indictment, Russell allegedly used his hands and an unknown object to strangle Waller. He's also accused of striking Waller with a part from a laptop computer in the face, head, extremities and other areas of her body.

Police were called to the residence around 4 p.m. Friday, March 3 at Alta Ridgewalk Apartments, which are located off Ridgewalk Parkway east of the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta.
Investigators soon learned that Waller and Russell were in a relationship but according to the indictment, they were no longer living together.

Russell was arrested and booked in to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center where he remains held without bond.
One of Waller's children created a GoFundMe page to raise funds to help cover expenses related to her mother's funeral and burial. That campaign raised $10,795.
"Me and my brother are left without our mom that we loved so much, and I wouldn't want to wish this pain upon anybody," one of the children previously said on the campaign page, which is no longer active.
