Held the first Tuesday of each month, the fundraiser will last all day at the restaurant, which sits at the intersection of Highway 92 and Trickum Road.

The next Explorer Day is this Tuesday, May 5.

In its fourth year of participating, Buffalo’s Café has donated about $5,000 to the Woodstock Public Safety Foundation benefiting the Explorer Post.

“We see the Explorer program as a valuable cause for our community’s young people; instilling in them confidence, responsibility, and direction towards a positive future, said Buffalo’s Café General Manager Bryan Luke. “We are proud to be involved in such a worthy mission.”

Formed in 2007, the Woodstock Police Department Law Enforcement Explorer Post is a program available to young men and women interested in learning about careers in law enforcement.

Explorers are provided with educational training programs for young adults on the purposes, mission and objectives of law enforcement. The program provides career oriented experiences, leadership opportunities and community service activities.

Its primary goals are to help young adults choose a career path within law enforcement and to challenge them to become responsible citizens of their communities. Law enforcement explorer posts are part of the Boy Scouts of America organization.
