Cherokee Wants To Hire New Firefighter Recruits

The application process for new firefighter recruits for Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services is now open.
Interested residents can complete applications online by midnight on Monday, Sept. 1. Applicants can be found by visiting the county’s website.

It is imperative that applicants read the application guidelines before beginning this application process. Qualified candidates must 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED in order to qualify for this full time position. Candidates should also be a licensed EMT-I, Advanced EMT or Paramedic for your application to be accepted.
Applicants must attend only one of the mandatory fire department orientation seminars. You will not be eligible to continue in the hiring process if you do not attend one of these sessions.

The orientation seminars will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 3 and Friday, Sept. 5 at the Cherokee County Administration Building at 1130 Bluffs Parkway in Canton.
All correspondence regarding the position will be sent through email. Candidates should receive an orientation notice email from the Human Resources Department of the fire department within 72 hours of his or her’s application submittal.
Candidates are encouraged to check their spam and junk folders if you do not receive this notice.
