Seniors Ally Robbins and Alex Hartwig and juniors Jordan Mason and Justin Mason organized a new club, the Big/Little Club, to match upperclassmen, as a “big brother” or “big sister,” with incoming freshmen.

The club will meet at planned social and community service events throughout the school year to engage students and help them get involved. The first event was a success, according to staff sponsor and counselor Jeff Bennett, with about 120 students in attendance.

Students enjoyed pizza and games, worked on a community service project and, most importantly, got to know each other. The new students had time to ask upperclassmen questions about high school in a fun and comfortable environment.

“The Big/Little Club has the potential to engage our students in the learning process and growth to adulthood in a unique and impactful way -- by teaching and learning from each other,” Bennett said.
