Cycling Stage Race This Friday In Downtown Woodstock

On Friday, the City of Woodstock will host the kick-off to the 3-day Tour of the Southern Highlands Cycling Stage Race.

WOODSTOCK, GA — On Friday, the City of Woodstock will host the kick-off to Tour of the Southern Highlands Cycling Stage Race, a 3-day race starting in Woodstock on Friday and ending in Ball Ground on Sunday.

This 3-day race will start in downtown Woodstock at 6 p.m. on Friday. The race route will include Mill Street to Market Street to Maple Street to Paden Street (and repeat). The race will end at 10:30 p.m. This event will feature live race announcements and an infield watch party.

Set-up for the event will start at approximately noon on Friday with clean-up from the event to conclude at approximately midnight.

The following roads will be completely closed to vehicular traffic from approximately 5:30p.m. – 10:30p.m.: Mill Street, Market Street, Maple Street, and Paden Street.

Due to road closures, traffic will be directed to allow left turns onto Main Street from Towne Lake Parkway during the event.

Access to the lower level of the parking deck and on street parking south of Maple Street at Walton Communities will be allowed from Dupree Road at all times throughout the event. Access to the upper level of the parking deck on Maple Street and the entire parking deck accessed from Reeves Street will be restricted during the event. Residents are advised to relocate vehicles to accessible locations prior to road closures.

The City of Woodstock encourages residents and guests to plan accordingly and expect travel delays in this area.
