Elm Street Receives $2,500 Grant

The CarMax Foundation awarded $15,000 to Atlanta organizations making a difference in the community.

The received a $2,500 grant from The CarMax Foundation Wednesday.

The money will go toward the 2012 iThink School Tour program. The iThink Improv Troupe travels to county elementary schools working with students to express literature and stories in creative ways.

The CarMax Foundation awarded $15,000 to Atlanta area organizations including Advocates for Bartow’s Children, Center Helping Obesity in Children End Successfully, Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia, Georgia Jaycettes Foundation and March of Dimes along with Elm Street as part of the Foundation’s Regional Giving Program.

“Each of these programs is making a positive impact on the future of Atlanta through education, encouragement of a healthy lifestyle, acceptance and creativity,” said Lauri Page, CarMax Auto Finance recruiting manager and Regional Giving Program committee member in a press release. “It is our great pleasure to be among the supporters of these great organizations.” 

The program provides grants to qualifying nonprofit organizations that have programs focused on education, youth leadership or wellness. More than $2.9 million has been donated to local non-profit organizations across the United States through this program since it was started in 2007.
