Fire Damages Home In Woodstock

No injuries were reported in the fire, which occurred Monday morning at a home off Arnold Mill Road.

WOODSTOCK, GA — A home in Woodstock was damaged in a Monday morning fire, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services said.

Firefighters with the agency responded to the call just after 9:30 a.m. June 18 at a home in the 100 block of Farmington Drive, which is located off Arnold Mill Road east of Trickum Road.

Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the two-story, wooden residence. Firefighters on the scene reported the blaze was coming from the garage underneath the home.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before any major damage could occur. Most of the fire, smoke and water damage, CCFES said, was confined to the home's basement and garage area.

The fire was brought under control about 45 minutes after the call was dispatched. Portions of Farmington Drive were closed during the operation and no injuries were reported. No one was living in the home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
