Garage Fire Damages Woodstock Home
The couple initially tried to put the blaze out with a fire extinguisher, but was unsuccessful.

A fire that started out in the garage of a home in unincorporated Woodstock resulted in over half of the home suffering considerable damage.
Woodstock Fire and Rescue and Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services both responded to a structure fire call around 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 832 Riverstone Lane.
According to a press release from Cherokee fire, a middle age couple home discovered the fire in their garage and tried to put out the blaze with a fire extinguisher. However, they were unsuccessful in their efforts, and eventually called Cherokee County E-911 for help.

Firefighters arrived onto the scene and the fire worked its way towards the home. A portion of the home’s roof fell in and about two-thirds of the home was destroyed by the fire, Cherokee fire noted. The remaining area of the home also received smoke, water and fire damage.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
