Goodwill Opens New Bells Ferry Road Store

Goodwill of North Georgia, which provides employment services to more than 40,000 North Georgians each year, today celebrated the grand opening of its new Woodstock store. The event marked the opening of Goodwill of North Georgia’s 50th store in operation.

With more than 250 attendees, the new Woodstock store brought together community and business leaders and excited shoppers for the announcement. This store is the third of six new stores and career training centers Goodwill of North Georgia is slated to open this fiscal year, following the opening of its first Dawsonville store on July 17th, and a second store in Snellville on August 7th.

Staying true to its mission, Goodwill of North Georgia offers job-search resources, helps with writing professional résumés and cover letters, provides access to employment opportunities, and delivers hands-on skills training. In addition, the organization offers job seekers free use of computers with internet access and résumé writing software. Goodwill also offers interview tips and coaching with resources that are designed to help job seekers stand out in front of potential employers. In 2013 alone, Goodwill of North Georgia has helped more than 11,000 people in North Georgia find jobs and provided job training and job-placement services to an additional 29,000.

Located at 6719 Bells Ferry Road, about one and a half miles north of Hobgood Park on Bells Ferry Road, the store includes about 12,000 square feet of sales floor space. This includes clothing, furniture, books and other household items.

Proceeds from the sale of donated goods will help support a variety of job training programs and employment services. “Goodwill of North Georgia recognizes that every day thousands of men and women face barriers that make it difficult for them to find work and earn a paycheck to support their families. This can be due to lack of training or education, limited job skills, or even disability. However, with the support of loyal donors and shoppers like you, we can make the world a better place and overcome those barriers,” said Raymond Bishop, President and CEO of Goodwill of North Georgia.
