Greenstock Day Brings Electronic Recycling To Woodstock

WOODSTOCK, GA -- The city of Woodstock is gearing up for its annual celebration of going green.

Greenstock Day will return this weekend, Saturday, April 23, at Woodstock Elementary School. 

The event, which will include electronic recycling and document shredding services, is coordinated by the city, Waste Management, Diversified Recycling, USAgain and Georgia Document Destruction, and provides residents with an opportunity to clean out their homes and garages.

Residents will be able to drop off items from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Some of the items that will be accepted at no charge include televisions, radios, personal computers and laptops, printers and fax machines, copiers, computer keyboards and mice, small household appliances, batteries and compact fluorescent light bulbs.

For those who want to get rid of documents containing sensitive information, Georgia Document Destruction will be conducting shredding of these papers. Residents are asked to limit their haul to five boxes per car.

During the week leading up to Greenstock Day, Waste Management will conduct a special trash pickup of used appliances, large items and scrap metal (details here).

This collection will be take place April 18-22 during city of Woodstock customers' normal trash pickup day. Construction debris will not be collected.
