Head-On Collision Sends 3 To Hospital
A Woodstock resident had to be airlifted in the two-vehicle collision on Sugar Pike Road Wednesday evening.
A head-on collision last week in Hickory Flat sent three people to the hospital.
At round 6:50 p.m. June 18, a Hummer was traveling northbound on Sugar Pike Road and a Honda Accord was traveling southbound along the thoroughfare when they both "collided front-to-front," said Georgia State Patrol spokesperson Gordy Wright.
The driver of the Accord, Woodstock resident Tara Bomar, 43, was airlifted to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta for treatment. Bomar was also charged with driving on the wrong side of the road, Wright added.
Bomar was entrapped in the Accord, and had to be extricated from the vehicle, said Tim Cavender, spokesperson with Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.
Cavender said reports show Bomar had a broken arm and was bleeding from her head.
The driver of the Hummer, Canton resident Ricky Larry McClure, 55, and passenger Norma Jean McClure, 56, were both taken to Northside Hospital-Cherokee for treatment. Cavender added those injuries were minor.
