Live: Woodstock's Hall of Fame Bid Rejected
The state board has voted down all four proposals from cities.

10:10 a.m. The Georgia Music Hall of Fame will stay open through June 30. The board will meet again in a month to decide where to go from here.

10:07 a.m. The board unanimously voted to accept Lisa Love’s contingency plan. Her plan does not specifiy if she wants to stay open or close the museum.
10:02 a.m. "We are assuming on Rose Lane’s comments that they are going to do it. If they say no, what are we going to do?" Rob Gibson said.

10 a.m. When asked if the money promised from Macon was certain, Rose Lane Leavell just said she feels certain, but it's not in writing.
9:56 a.m. With a 6-2 vote, the board will reject the four proposals. Brad Turner and Lynda Gudenrath voted no. Rose Lane Leavell, Claire Fox Hillard, Jim Gillis, David Barbe, Rob Gibson and Robert Highsmith voted yes. Charley Humbard left the call early.
9:53 a.m. The board wants to reject all four proposals, expect for Brad Turner and Lynda Gudenrath because Macon said they will cover it with a better business model and they don't agree with it.
9:51 a.m. Brad Turner said he has not heard a single business plan that sounds smart or doable. He also said Macon isn't a major tourist attraction. (You be the judge, based on the Macon-Bibb County Convention & Visitors Bureau.)
9:48 a.m. The city of Macon and Bibb County have promised $1 million, and the Peyton Anderson Foundation promised $750,000 to keep the museum.
9:44 a.m. David Barbe has proposed asking UGA as a potential location because of government funding and location.
9:41 a.m. David Barbe mentioned the Woodstock proposal and how the city would want student involvement. This is the only mention of one of the proposers.
9:41 a.m. Lisa Love said they are at the point of rejecting all the proposals and staying with Macon with private funding and the board's help.
9:40 a.m. "I'm very leery to come forward with any of the proposals," Vice Chairman Rob Gibson said.
9:37 a.m. Macon’s total contributions only equal $1.2 million when it costs $1.1 million annually to keep it running.
9:30 a.m. "I would really love to see how we can make this thrive and not make it just survive in the end," board member Charley Humbard said.
9:21 a.m. The board is not discussing any of the other locations. In January, it was decided not to award the proposal to Macon.
9:19 a.m. Board member David Barbe said they need to think more than a short-term tourist attraction or they'll be back in this same place in three years.
9:12 a.m. "I think it will hurt the Music Hall of Fame brand if we close it in Macon," board member Brad Turner said.
9:08 a.m. I'm on the call for the Music Hall of Fame decision. Board member Rose Lane Leavell wants to keep the museum in Macon through private funding.
