Man Charged in Woodstock QuikTrip Armed Robbery

Brennan Duckwitz of Woodstock faces armed robbery and aggravated assault charges in the crime that occurred early Sunday morning.

A Woodstock man is behind bars for allegedly robbing QuikTrip on Highway 92 east of Interstate 575. 

Brennan Duckwitz, 32, has been charged by the Woodstock Police Department with armed robbery and aggravated assault in connection to the crime, which occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 22.

Officers with the agency were dispatched at 4:55 a.m. to the convenience store at 9765 Highway 92 in reference to an armed robbery call.

Officers met with the store clerk, who said a man entered the store "armed with a pistol" and told the clerk to "hand it over," said Woodstock police spokesperson Brittany Duncan. 

Duncan said the suspect fled the scene on foot after the alleged robbery. After responding to the scene, police issued a be-on-the-lookout for a person who matched the suspect's description.

The agency's Charlie Shift, Alpha Shift, Criminal Investigations Unit and K-9 Unit, with the help of the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, canvassed the area where the suspect was seen fleeing on foot. 

At approximately 9:20 a.m., officers located an individual who matched the suspect’s description standing outside CVS Pharmacy at 1600 Towne Lake Parkway in Woodstock.  

Duncan said Duckwitz was later arrested and transported to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center where he remains without bond.
