New Instructor Joins Chattahoochee Tech Auto Collision Program

CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — Chattahoochee Technical College welcomes Devon Parks, of Pickens County, as a new instructor in the college’s Automotive Collision Repair program at the Appalachian Campus. A graduate of Chattahoochee Tech, Parks also graduated from Pickens County High School.

Parks brings a solid background of industry experience to his role as a Chattahoochee Tech instructor.

“I have performed all roles in the collision repair industry,” said Parks. “I’ve worked as a collision technician, frame technician, and as a refinish technician. So, I have experience in everything from basic vehicle teardown and repair to restoration work, as well as prepping and painting both collision vehicles and restorations.”

Parks currently is teaching introduction classes for Auto Collision Repair and for Automotive Paint and Refinish. He also teaches Foundations of Collision Repair.

“What I enjoy most about Chattahoochee Tech is the facility, its employees, and sharing my knowledge and experience with students,” said Parks. “My goals for the program would be to continue to teach the most current and best repair knowledge possible, using the best equipment and information available.”

Students in the Chattahoochee Tech Automotive Collision Repair program learn the industry- required National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) standards in this high-demand field for repairing and refinishing all types of vehicles, and for straightening vehicle frames. Nationally recognized Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) training certificates are available for students upon graduation. Interested students should apply soon. New student registration begins on Nov. 1, and spring semester classes start on Jan. 13, 2020.
