Optimist Club Helps Charter School Expand Gardening Enterprise

The mission of the Towne Lake Optimist Club is to provide hope and positive vision and to bring out the best in kids

The Towne Lake Optimist Club has presented a $2000 grant to Cherokee Charter Academy for the purchase of two state-of-the-art tower gardens. Tower gardens are cutting-edge vertical, hydroponic growing systems designed to radically save space, energy and time compared with conventional gardening. One of the tower gardens will go in the school's STEM lab and the other in the middle school portion of the CCA building. The tower gardens will complement CCA's existing conventional garden and chicken coop on the school's Canton campus.

Cherokee Charter Academy (K-8) is a tuition-free public charter school.
