Pedestrian, 36, Killed in Christmas Eve Crash
The driver of the vehicle, 20-year-old Jacob Black of Woodstock, was not injured in the accident.

Marietta, GA -- A 36-year-old man was fatally hit in a Christmas Eve accident in nearby Cobb County.

Offices with the Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program Unit are investigating the collision, which occurred around 7:02 p.m. Dec. 24 along Austell Road at Pat Mell Road in unincorporated Marietta.
The driver of a blue 2001 BMW 525i was traveling southbound on Austell Road towards Pat Mell Road when a “pedestrian attempted to cross against the traffic signal from the west to the east side of the intersection,” Cobb police said.

The pedestrian, 36-year-old Michael M. Mills of Marietta, was transported by ambulance to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the BMW, Jacob A. Black, 20, of Woodstock, was not injured in the collision. The accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call (770) 499-3987.
