Police Arrest Alleged Heroin Dealers In Woodstock

The Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad believe the heroin came from The Bluff, an infamous drug distribution hub in Atlanta.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- Two Woodstock residents were arrested earlier this week on charges they planned to distribute heroin authorities believe came from an area in Atlanta known for its ties to drugs.

Acting on a tip, agents with the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad launched what it referred to as a heroin distribution investigation involving two subjects, Joshua Oquain, 26, and 27-year-old Emaya Watson.

The agents made contact with the pair at a gas station along Bells Ferry Road near Towne Lake Parkway and after a search of their person, vehicle and residence off Victoria Station, heroin, Xanax and marijuana were all located. Authorities also unearthed packaging materials, scales and other drug paraphernalia.

CMANS agents believe the heroin confiscated during the May 2 arrest came from The Bluff, the infamous drug distribution hub in Atlanta.

Oquain was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of Xanax and possession of marijuana less than an ounce. Watson was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of Xanax, possession of marijuana less than an ounce and crossing the guard line with contraband.

"CMANS is committed and diligently working with our federal, state and local partners to identify current trends related to heroin and other illegal drugs that are impacting our community," the agency added on its Facebook page.

The Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad is a joint task force working in Cherokee County to investigate drug related violations.

Participating agencies include the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, Canton Police Department, Woodstock Police Department, Holly Springs Police Department, Ball Ground Police Department, Cherokee County Marshal’s Office, District Attorney’s Office for the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit and the Georgia State Patrol.
