Recycling Program Starts At Victoria Day Use Area

Premier Surplus Inc. has donated two 55-gallon steel recycling bins to collect plastics and aluminum cans at Allatoona Lake.

WOODSTOCK, GA — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District has partnered with Premier Surplus Inc. to roll out a recycling program at the Victoria Day Use Area at Allatoona Lake in Woodstock.

Premier Surplus Inc. has donated two 55-gallon steel recycling bins that will be used at the site for collection of plastics and aluminum cans. Victoria Day Use area is a popular day use park, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials hope that this placement will help reduce the waste production in and around Allatoona Lake.

The Allatoona Lake Project, with the help of its dedicated volunteers, has recycled more than 2,000 pounds of plastic, aluminum, cardboard, and paper since beginning its recycling program in August 2017. In November 2017 Allatoona Lake Project was able to partner with Keep Bartow Beautiful to enhance collection abilities at McKinney Campground.

able to reduce the overall waste production at Allatoona Lake Project even further and help keep our lake beautiful for generations to come," the Army Corps of Engineers said.
