Resident Treated For Smoke Inhalation Following House Fire

A home in the Deer Run community was damaged Thursday afternoon when a fire broke out within the structure.

Woodstock Fire and Rescue and Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services crews responded to the fire around 3:59 p.m. Sept. 17 at the house on Dream Catcher Drive in Woodstock.

Crews arrived on the scene, and found a “smoldering fire inside the walls of the structure,” Woodstock fire said in its press release.

The first responders quickly worked to extinguish the fire. The homeowner was treated on the scene for smoke inhalation, the agency added.

No fire crews were injured in the response, and the damage to the house was limited to one wall. Woodstock fire noted the blaze started as “a result of the homeowner soldering pipes.”
