WOODSTOCK, GA — A Cherokee County School District student has placed in a statewide art contest.
River Ridge High School rising senior Alicia Mazzurra won her school and the countywide art contest sponsored by the Cherokee County Farm Bureau and advanced to win honorable mention in the Georgia Farm Bureau contest.
Her artwork will be featured on the Cherokee bureau’s safety camp t-shirt and in the 2020 Georgia Farm Bureau Art Calendar that will be distributed to members statewide. She also won a $150 Walmart gift card.

The contest is open to any high school student in Georgia.
Winning artwork best represents modern agriculture found in the student's home county, or Georgia's agriculture industry as a whole.

From all entries received, 10 finalists were named, one from each of Georgia Farm Bureau's 10 districts. One of those was named the overall state winner, and two others were named state runners up. Cash prizes will be awarded to all ten finalists, and additional prizes for the state winner and runners up.
