Santa's "Little" Helpers Endorse 'Revive The Reeves' Campaign

The initiative calls for renovating the historic Reeves House to serve as the hub of a vibrant arts and culture scene in Woodstock.

A couple of Santa’s helpers were seen late Friday evening embarking on a campaign to encourage residents to support a plan to expand the arts scene in downtown Woodstock.

Residents in the area arose Saturday morning to find hand-made signs in multiple locations that read, “Revive the Reeves.”

The Revive The Reeves initiative is a fundraising campaign launched by organizers with Elm Street Cultural Arts Village. It calls for restoring the historic Reeves Home to serve as the center of Elm Street’s arts hub.

The redevelopment is slated to include a variety of art spaces, and will be a complement to the Event Green and outdoor Resurgens Orthopaedics Community Stage completed in Phase I.

Funding for the second phase is being done through broad spectrum of community partnerships, including a grassroots brick campaign that involves the participation of individuals and small groups.

Leon, the World’s Tallest Elf, who was on an official visit to Woodstock for the December Friday Night Live festivities, commended the elves for their proactive stance.

“I’m not sure those elves were authorized to leave the workshop in the middle of our busiest season,” he added. “But I suppose their heart was in the right place. We elves love any kind of magic and Elm Street is known, even at the North Pole, for working magic all year ‘round.”
