Search and Rescue Team Seeks New Members
The team helps the Cherokee Sheriff's Office and Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services look for missing, lost or injured residents.
WOODSTOCK, GA -- The Cherokee County Search and Rescue Team is seeking new faces to join its band of volunteer citizens.
The Cherokee County Search and Rescue Team (CCSAR) is a part of the special operations section of Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.
The all-volunteer team consists of firefighters as well as private citizens who help the fire department and the Cherokee Sheriff's Office look for missing, lost and injured residents.

Team members receive specialized training in urban and wilderness search and rescue, and also lend a hand to search teams in other counties during mutual aid calls.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and are required to attend training sessions conducted twice a month.
