Severe Weather Possible on Saturday in Woodstock

The National Weather Service says two rounds of storms could bring wind, heavy rain and tornadoes.

Two rounds of storms could bring severe weather to Woodstock and elsewhere in north Georgia Saturday, the National Weather Service in Peachtree City said.

In a Hazardous Weather Outlook alert, the weather service said the next storm system is expected to blow through the state beginning early Saturday morning. Another round of storms is expected in the afternoon.

From the weather service:

Two rounds of severe weather are possible on Saturday. The first round is associated with an upper level disturbance and is expected mainly before 10 AM. The second round of thunderstorms is likely in the afternoon along a cold front. There is the potential for severe weather with both systems. Any severe thunderstorm that develops will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, large hail and tornadoes. Localized flooding is also possible.
