Sheriff's Office Looking For Armed Robbery Suspect

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office is on the hunt for an armed robbery suspect accused of targeting a check cashing store in unincorporated Acworth.

According to the agency’s be-on-the-lookout alert, the robbery occurred around 3:12 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 20 at Atlanta Check Cashers, which is located at 6643 Highway 92 near Bells Ferry Road.
A suspect, who was wearing all black clothing and carrying a large black backpack with white or gray sides, entered the store, “brandished a black pistol and demanded money,” the agency said.

The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands, and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect fled on foot from the area through the parking lot.
The suspect, described as a black male with a slender build, is possibly between 5’10’’ and 5’11’’ tall. No other defining features were provided by police.
