'Strut Your Mutt' Celebrates National Dog Day In Cherokee County
The event, which requires pre-registration, will be held Aug. 26 at Pawtriots Park in southwest Cherokee County.

ACWORTH, GA -- The Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency is inviting residents and their four-legged family members to celebrate National Dog Day in August at Pawtriots Park.
Strut Your Mutt is scheduled for 10 a.m to 1 p.m. Aug. 26 at the park located at 1485 Kellogg Creek Road in Acworth.
There will be food trucks, Kona Ice and representatives from the Cherokee County Animal Shelter, Cherokee Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit, Cherokee Marshal's Office, dog boutiques and other vendors. Organizers will also have a contest for Best Dressed (small and large dogs), Best Barker and Best Tail Wagger. You can also visit the Yappy Hour station for a free Frosty Paws provided by South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital.

Dogs must be up to date on all shots. No female dogs in heat. Unruly dogs will be asked to leave. Pre-registration is required. You can register for the event by clicking here.
