- Reports are surfacing that a Woodstock teen died in a car wreck on Sunday morning in Marietta. The Marietta Police Department said 16-year-old Milton Diaz of Woodstock was a passenger in a car on the Interstate 75 ramp when the car left the road and crashed into a tree. Diaz died from injuries at Kennestone Hospital. It's unknown why the driver exited the lane and left the roadway. (FOX 5 Atlanta)

- The Critical Race Theory debate is spurring parents to run for school boards, including one man in Woodstock. Local resident Sean Kaufman said he started thinking about running after his son received an assignment on the American dream at Woodstock High School. "Every single child wrote the American dream was dead. And that really bothered me," Kaufman said. A Republican runoff election has been scheduled for Jun. 21, with early voting happening through tomorrow, Jun. 17. The runoff winner will face the Democrat primary winner on Nov. 8 for the school board position. (The Epoch Times)
- A second monkeypox case has been confirmed in the metro Atlanta area as cases rise across the world. Currently, there are over 1,600 cases in 39 countries. This second man has traveled internationally as well as the first case reported earlier in the month. Health officials have emphasized that monkeypox is "nothing like the coronavirus" and is seen as a low risk to the public. (Patch)
