Teen Lifeguard Honored For Saving Swimmer's Life

Katie Wallesheuser received the Citizen Life Saving Award from Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services.

Katie Wallesheuser was honored for saving the life of a teen at the swimming pool at the Pines Swim and Racket Club in Marietta on June third.

The award cites Katie for “outstanding and exceptional lifesaving emergency medical care rendered to a 16 y/o female patient in full arrest…your actions in this incident demonstrated your commitment to providing the highest standard in patient care, your dedication to the preservation of life is to be commended.”

Besides working as a lifeguard, Katie is a swim lesson instructor for the Gold Swim School in Woodstock and is a swimmer on the Chattahoochee Gold swim team.
