Weekend Pigskin Roundup: Eagles Win Region Game

Each Monday we'll take a look at what happened on the gridiron over the weekend in Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch.

Etowah 21, Cherokee 7 – is now 3-3 on the season and 1-1 in Region 5-AAAAA play, however the team has yet to string two wins together.

“It’s a lot better outcome having a win,” said Etowah head coach Bill Stewart. “We needed it for region to keep moving on.”

With Wheeler, Marietta, and Woodstock still on the region schedule, Etowah looks to be in good shape for a playoff bid. ()

Wheeler 3, Woodstock 0 – head coach Brent Budde said that he was sure there were some highlights to be seen from Friday’s 3-0 loss to Wheeler, but he’d have to look at game film to find them.

“Highlights of the game were few and far between,” said Budde. “The defense was put in tough situations tonight and they played really tough to only give up three points.”
