Woman Shot By Husband Thanks First Responders For Saving Her Life
Tina Goss thanked the Cherokee County firefighters and sheriff's deputies who helped in saving her life.
CANTON, GA — A Cherokee County woman who was shot earlier this year by her husband paid a visit on Friday to firefighters and sheriff's deputies to thank them for saving her life.
Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the call at the home in the 200 block of Flatbottom Trail around 5:10 a.m. Feb. 12 and found a man, Ronald Goss, suffering from an injury to his face. His wife, Tina Goss, was found inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound.
The pair was hospitalized and treated for their injuries. Cherokee sheriff's deputies determined Tina Goss did not shoot or injure her husband, and a preliminary investigation conducted by the sheriff's office revealed Ronald Goss "forced entry into the home" before the incident unfolded.

Tina Goss was treated by Cherokee County paramedic Billy Pflugrad and EMT Michael Turberville before she was taken by ambulance to WellStar Kennestone Hospital. Cherokee Sheriff's Office deputy Corey Carter helped firefighters by driving the ambulance to the hospital that morning due to a heavy call volume that kept other firefighters busy.

Goss arrived Friday afternoon at the Shaw-Woodard Training Center in Canton with her son and parents to thank the firefighters and sheriff's deputies who were involved in the initial medical care she received.
“I’m a huge believer in guardians angels, but I believe God stepped in that day and said, 'I’ve got this'," she said.
Goss spoke about the many injuries from the shooting, adding she was "so fortunate to have Billy that day because he had so much experience with gunshot wounds.” Goss stated that she is doing well and is in physical therapy, with the hopes of eventually leaving behind her wheelchair.
“I’m so appreciative to the firefighters and police and everyone who came out and helped," she said. "Your jobs matter so much. I love y’all.”
