The Cherokee Sheriff's Office said Ronald Goss forced his way into a Ball Ground home and shot his wife.

BALL GROUND, GA — The Cherokee Sheriff's Office has arrested the husband accused of storming a home and shooting his wife last month in Ball Ground. Ronald Goss has been charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, home invasion and aggravated battery and aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act, the agency said Monday.
Deputies were dispatched around 5:10 a.m. Feb. 12 to a call of a residential alarm at a home in the 200 block of Flatbottom Trail. While a deputy was traveling to the home, a Cherokee 9-1-1 dispatcher received a call stating a person had been shot and when deputies arrived on the scene, they found Ronald Goss outside with an injury to his face, the sheriff's office said.
While clearing the inside of the home, deputies found a woman, later identified as 48-year-old Tina Goss, suffering from a gunshot wound, the agency added (For more news like this, find your local Patch here. The pair were transported to an area hospital where they were treated. Sgt. Marianne Kelley, spokesperson with the sheriff's office, said that Tina Goss "did not shoot" or cause any injuries to Ronald Goss. A preliminary investigation conducted by the sheriff's office reveals Ronald Goss, 58, "forced entry into the home."
Meanwhile, Tina Goss continues to receive medical attention weeks following the incident. Goss was booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on Feb. 28 with no bond.
