Woodstock Educator Named To Governor's Teacher Advisory Committee

Karen Zayance of Woodstock High School will help review the Education Reform Commission's findings on teacher recruitment and retention.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- A Woodstock High School teacher has been selected to serve on the Governor’s Teacher Advisory Committee.

Karen Zayance was tapped for the Committee, which is charged with reviewing the Governor’s Education Reform Commission’s recommendations “that specifically relate to teachers such as teacher recruitment and retention, the implementation of competency-based education, and the elements districts should consider including as they transition to new compensation models,” according to the Governor’s Office.

The Governor’s Office said it solicited educational leaders and legislators statewide for nominations of teachers to serve on the committee.
