The previous parade route started at the old Walmart site traveling north on Main Street to Woodstock Elementary School.

“With the construction of the Sam’s Club at the old Walmart location planned to start soon, we had to find an alternate parade route,” said Woodstock Parks and Recreation Director Preston Pooser.
The new route will start and end at Woodstock Elementary School. It will start by traveling south on Rope Mill Road and continuing on Main Street.

Once on Main, it will turn right on to Towne Lake Parkway and take a left at Mill Street. It will follow Mill Street and turn right onto Market Street. The route will then travel down Market Street, turn left onto Fowler Street and take another left to Main Street.
As it travels north Main Street, the parade will veer left back onto Rope Mill Road to end at the elementary school.
“The parade route is just under two miles long, so we are encouraging parade participants to utilize floats and vehicles in the parade,” Pooser added. “The old parade route was one mile long, so this route is twice the length. The Christmas parade, by design, is a lighted, night-time parade, so we’re hoping for lighted floats. With the parade route doubling in length, we’ll be limiting the number of walkers this year.”
The Woodstock Christmas Jubilee and Parade of Lights will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday Dec. 6. Following the parade, Woodstock will host its Annual Christmas Jubilee in the Park at City Center.
