Matthew Yandow, 20, has been charged with one count of burglary following the execution of a search warrant at a home in the Springwater Place subdivision.
Detectives with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday executed the warrant at the home, which sits off Toonigh Road, following “a rash of burglaries that occurred in that neighborhood last week,” said spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker.

Investigators recovered cash, prescription medication, jewelry, electronics and a firearm during the search, Baker stated.
Stolen property was also located in pawn shops in Cherokee and Cobb counties; the items are believed to have been allegedly pawned by Yandow, the sheriff’s office added.
Following one of last week’s incidents, a resident met with responding deputies and provided them with a description of a possible suspect and vehicle. Another tip also led detectives to Yandow’s doorstep, Baker stated.
Baker said additional burglary charges for Yandow are forthcoming, as he’s suspected of allegedly burglarizing seven homes between Wednesday and Friday of last week.
Yandow remains in custody at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with an $11,200 bond. The case remains under investigation.
