Woodstock Man Dies In Crash On I-75
The Georgia State Patrol said the 56-year-old driver had "several medical issues" that could have contributed to the June 15 accident.

BARTOW COUNTY, GA — A 56-year-old Woodstock resident died in a single-vehicle accident Friday afternoon in Bartow County. Georgia State Patrol troopers responded to the crash on the northbound side of Interstate 75 near mile marker 295.
Bartow EMS director Brandon Duncan said medical personnel arrived at the scene to find a passenger car in the wood line off to the side of the interstate.
According to the state patrol, the Lincoln Town car was found "disabled" in the tree line with one person inside. An initial investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling northbound in the right lane and "left the east side of the roadway, traveling into the trees."

The driver, identified as Abel Chavez of Woodstock, was pronounced dead following the accident. While the cause of the crash has not been determined, the state patrol said Chavez had "several medical issues which could have contributed to the crash."
