Woodstock Man Injured In Fatal Head-On Collision

The driver of a Lexus, in an attempt to pass another vehicle, drove on the wrong side of the road and collided with a truck, police say.

MARIETTA, GA -- A Woodstock resident was injured in a fatal head-on collision reported Friday afternoon in East Cobb.

The Cobb County Police Department's Selective Traffic Enforcement Program Unit is investigating the crash, which was reported around 1:49 p.m. June 9 on Post Oak Tritt Road near Walden Lane.

A preliminary investigation reveals a white 2005 Lexus LS430 was traveling westbound on Post Oak Tritt Road as a white Ford F750 flatbed truck was going eastbound.

Cobb police saif the Lexus, in an effort to pass another vehicle, "drove on the wrong side of the road" and collided head-on with the Ford.

The driver of the Lexus, identified as 75-year-old Jacqueline M. Frankum of Roswell, was pronounced dead on the scene due to injuries sustained in the collision. The driver of the truck, Gregg A. Morgan, 40, of Woodstock, was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injures.
