Woodstock Named 9th Best Place For Young Professionals

A real estate blog has ranked the city of Woodstock as one of the top 10 places that are best suited for young professionals outside Atlanta.

Woodstock placed ninth on The 10 Best Places For Young Professionals Near Atlanta list compiled by Movoto.

The complete list includes:

1. Locust Grove
2. Sandy Springs (tie)
2. Vinings (tie)
4. North Decatur
5. Smyrna
6. Druid Hills
7. North Druid Hills
8. Villa Rica
9. Woodstock
10. Newnan

Movoto came up with the list by reviewing places in metro Atlanta “in terms of criteria that appeals to young professions,” such as unemployment rates, the percentage of citizens between the ages of 22 and 29, the percentage of residents who have a bachelor’s degree, the percent of residents with ”professional” occupations and cost of living.

Woodstock serves as an “excellent choice for young professionals thanks to the low cost of living, high percentage of the population in professional occupations and thriving downtown,” Movoto notes.

The city’s popular events, such as the Woodstock Farmers Market, Friday Night Live and Downtown Woodstock Restaurant Week, as well as its array of restaurants “are enough to make young professionals forget all about the weekend trip to Atlanta and spend their time off closer to home,” according to Movoto.
