Woodstock Participates In Greenlight A Vet Campaign

Launched by the Walmart Foundation, the program encourages communities to hire and mentor veterans who have retired from military service.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- Woodstock residents have a unique way to honor a United States military veteran this holiday season.

The city of Woodstock is offering green light bulbs to its citizens, courtesy of Walmart at 12182 Highway 92.

Citizens may stop by City Hall at 12453 Highway 92 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to pick up their free green light.

Residents can also visit Fire Station 10 at 108 Wigley Road or Fire Station 14 at 225 Arnold Mill Road any day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. to pick up a light.

The Greenlight A Vet campaign, launched by the Walmart Foundation, encourages communities to hire and mentor veterans who have retired from military service.

“A green light means go and that’s what veterans are known for — their ability to take action quickly no matter the challenge,” the Walmart Foundation said in a press release.
