Woodstock Police Name Honor Officers, Volunteers, Legacy Award

The Woodstock Police Department recently held its annual awards banquet, naming the officer of the year, and legacy award winner.

WOODSTOCK, GA — The Woodstock Police Department held its annual Awards Banquet on Jan. 21. The Woodstock Police Department’s command staff recognized department personnel for their achievements in 2021.

While many awards and recognitions were presented throughout the night, the following received annual awards signifying their work and contributions to the Woodstock Police Department:

Supervisor of the Year: Sergeant Jeremy Cochran

Officer of the Year: Officer Josh Collie

Rookie of the Year: Officer Chandisaita Mutasa

Civilian of the Year: Brittany Page

Volunteer of the Year: Matt Marano

Legacy Award: Donnie Henriques, former Mayor of Woodstock; Phil Price, retired Commander of CMANS

The Legacy Award may be awarded to an individual, group or entity who, through sustained and lasting efforts, has had a significant impact on many individuals and has improved the quality of life in Woodstock and beyond.

Tessa Basford Community Service Award: Chief Calvin Moss

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the men and women of the Woodstock Police Department awarded Chief Calvin Moss with the Tessa Basford Community Service Award. The award was presented to Moss by Vice President of the Woodstock Public Safety Foundation Scott O’Meara, and first Tessa Basford Award recipient, Mayor Michael Caldwell, former mayor Donnie Henriques, City Manager Jeff Moon, and Captain Mark Hand.

The Tessa Basford Community Service Award may be awarded to any person who makes significant contributions to the Woodstock Police Department through their time, actions, talents, and dedication to making the City of Woodstock a Better Place.
