Woodstock Subdivision Donates Money To Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation

WOODSTOCK-TOWNE LAKE, GA - From the Cherokee County Fire Department: Representatives from Heron Pond Subdivision, located off Highway 92 in Woodstock, presented a check to the Georgia Burn Foundation today at Cherokee County Fire Station #7 in southeastern Cherokee County.

The Georgia Burn Foundation partners with the fire service and burn care community to provide fire safety and prevention education, support medical facilities and assist burn survivors in their recovery.

Ray Villemez, Safety Coordinator with the subdivision, presented a check in the amount of $2,138 to McKenzy Williams, Children Services Director, with the Georgia Burn Foundation.

Villemez stated that he has seen emergency service vehicles from Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services come through the subdivision more than a dozen times. “The fire department has taught residents in the subdivision how to use a fire extinguisher properly and the importance about changing your batteries in your smoke detectors.”

Cherokee County Fire Chief, Tim Prather, expressed his gratitude to the representatives from Heron Pond. “This money is going to a great cause that will help burn victims and to continue to provide fire safety education to areas throughout Georgia.”
