Woodstock Subdivision Makes Donation To Georgia Burn Foundation

The Georgia Burn Foundation provides fire safety, prevention education, supports medical facilities and assists burn survivors in recovery.

WOODSTOCK, GA — A representative from Heron Pond Subdivision, located off Highway 92 in Woodstock, presented a check from a recent fundraiser to the Georgia Burn Foundation Sept. 13 at Cherokee County Fire Station No. 7 in southeastern Cherokee County.

The Georgia Burn Foundation partners with the fire service and burn care community to provide fire safety and prevention education, support medical facilities and assist burn survivors in their recovery.

Gail Petrakos, with Heron Pond subdivision, presented a check in the amount of $3,200 to Cherokee County Fire Safety Educator Beth Elder.

Representatives with Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services have taught residents in the subdivision how to use a fire extinguisher properly and the importance about changing the batteries in smoke detectors.

A portion of the money will stay in Cherokee County to assist with fire education locally.
