The city of Woodstock is now accepting applications for new firefighters.

Residents can visit the city’s website to apply for the position. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. June 26 for the next hiring test, which will start July 1.
If a resident submits an application at the deadline and they meet the minimum qualifications, their application will be kept on file by Woodstock Fire-Rescue.

The minimum requirements for the position are:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Possess good moral character with no felony convictions of a crime of moral turpitude
• Have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• EMT I
• Firefighter Mod 1
*Also must have a current United States Drivers License
Preferred qualifications for candidates include:
• NPQ Firefighter I or II certifications
• Certifications in: Intermediate EMT I, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic
*Any candidate who is NPQ I or NPQ II certified but is not a Georgia state certified firefighter must successfully challenge the Georgia Firefighter Certification Examination.
Applicants will be ineligible for the position if their Georgia State Firefighter Certification or NPQ I or NPQ II Certification has been suspended, revoked or is currently under investigation; or has been convicted of a felony within the past 10 years.
