Woodstock Wants Your Feedback on Millage Rate

The city plans to hold a public hearing tonight on its proposed 2013 millage rate, which is expected to remain steady.

The Woodstock City Council is asking its residents to give input on its 2013 millage rate.

The council at 7 p.m. tonight will hold a public hearing on the proposed rate. The meeting will be held at the Chambers at City Center, located at 8534 Main Street.

The city's millage rate is currently 7.889 mills and the city expects to keep the rate the same. A homeowner whose house is valued at $160,000, with the standard $5,000 exemption, would pay around $482 in city property taxes.

Chief Financial Officer Robert Porche said he's recommending the city hold its millage rate in place.

The rate will be adopted during the council's second meeting in August, which will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 26.
