• SBA Opens Disaster Loan Outreach Centers in Kailua-Kona (kwxx.com) — Hilo residents and business owners can now get in‑person help with SBA disaster loans at the Hawaii County Office of Aging on Kinoole Street, open weekdays. The center supports those hit by March storms with physical damage, economic injury, and mitigation loans, and applications are also available online or by phone before key June and January deadlines.
   

• BIIF baseball: Warriors, Dragons finish perfect, win island titles (westhawaiitoday.com subscription) — Hilo baseball fans just watched a big week at Wong Stadium, where Waiakea claimed the BIIF Division I title and Honokaʻa captured the Division II crown. Hilo High also shut out Konawaena to secure third place and now heads into a crucial state play‑in game against Mid‑Pacific for the final tournament berth.
   

• Hawaii House and Senate approve budget agreement, sending bill to final votes (hawaiinewsnow.com) — A new state budget deal is moving toward final approval and includes decisions shaped by Hilo-area Rep. Chris Todd, whose district covers portions of Hilo and nearby communities. Lawmakers say the plan aims to protect core services, respond to federal funding cuts, and invest in housing, education, transportation, and economic development across Hawaiʻi, which will indirectly affect Hilo residents over the next two fiscal years.
