While no Maui County dates are set yet, Honolulu residents can attend in person or submit written comments referencing Docket No. 2021-0024 to help shape future reliability and planning decisions.

Hawaiian Telcom accelerates fiber upgrades after recent storms (hawaiinewsnow.com) — Hawaiian Telcom, based in Honolulu, is speeding up its shift from copper lines to fiber after recent storms, aiming to restore and improve service more quickly for customers. Nearly 90% of Hawaiʻi residents already have access, and affected customers here may be required or encouraged to upgrade at no cost when fiber is available in their neighborhood.

Hawaii Is The Only State Without A Highway Patrol, But That Doesn't Mean You Can't Get Pulled Over (jalopnik.com) — Honolulu, as Hawaiʻi's dense capital on Oʻahu, is central to a statewide discussion about traffic enforcement even though the state has no formal highway patrol. The Department of Law Enforcement is moving toward a dedicated traffic unit that would focus on speeding, impaired driving, and truck compliance on Oʻahu highways, adding to existing local and state law enforcement efforts.
