GIFT service expands into Ammon to improve regional connectivity (localnews8.com) — Getting around Idaho Falls and neighboring Ammon is about to get easier, as the city's Greater Idaho Falls Transit on-demand service is expanding into Ammon. Local officials say the move will better connect residents to jobs, shopping, medical care, and major retailers, with a ribbon-cutting at Ammon City Hall on Oct. 1. 
2. The need for speed: Why an Idaho Falls man allegedly fled police twice (eastidahonews.com) — An Idaho Falls motorcyclist is accused of twice fleeing police during a high-speed chase on Hitt Road and nearby streets, reportedly reaching about 100 mph before finally stopping. The 24-year-old faces a felony eluding charge, with a possible five-year sentence and large fines if convicted, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 2.
3. Blackfoot Broncos defeat Idaho Falls Tigers 32-21 to move to 3-2 (localnews8.com) — Idaho Falls High School's football team fell 32-21 to Blackfoot, dropping to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play. The Tigers now turn their attention to next Saturday's Emotion Bowl against Skyline at Ravsten Stadium, a major rivalry game many local fans will be watching closely.
4. AAA calls Idaho's skyrocketing gas prices 'simply shocking' as diesel breaks state record (idahostatejournal.com) — Drivers in Idaho Falls are now paying about $5.03 per gallon for regular gas as Idaho's statewide average tops $5 and diesel hits a record high. AAA says global instability is pressuring fuel prices, even as crude oil has dipped, and urges residents not to waste money on premium grades their vehicles don't require.
