CARPENTERSVILLE, IL — One man is dead following a six-vehicle crash that happened Tuesday evening in Carpentersville.
An investigation into the collision shows a driver of a Ford F150 ran into the back of a vehicle that was stopped at a red light, which caused a chain-reaction collision. A 27-year-old man, Jamie McDonald of Streamwood, was in one of the five other vehicles involved in the crash and needed to be extricated.
He later died from injuries sustained in the traffic crash at Sherman Hospital. Three others were transported to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The driver of the Ford, Hector Salgado, was issued two citations.
The Carpentersville Police Department and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team is continuing to investigate the collision.
