16 Kilos Of Cocaine Seized From LITH Warehouse

Two Carpentersville men are in custody after search was conducted at the warehouse in the 9100 block of Trinity Drive in Lake in the Hills.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL -- Two men are in custody after a massive drug bust at a warehouse in Lake in the Hills resulted in authorities seizing 16 kilograms of suspected cocaine, police said. The Kane County Heroin Imitative Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration lead the month long investigation into the local narcotics distribution network, according to a news release. With the help of the McHenry County Sheriff's Office, a search was conducted at the warehouse in the 9100 block of Trinity Drive in Lake in the Hills on Sept. 20.

Authorities ended up seizing around 16 kilograms of suspected cocaine. The estimated street value of the cocaine is $512,000. Two Carpentersville men were taken into custody in connection with the drug bust.

Ivan A. Moreno-Gollegos, 18, and Juan C. Sancez-Cacho, 40, both of the 2300 block of Arrow Street in Carpentersville, have been charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

The investigation was conducted under the direction of the Kane County Heroin Initiative Task Force. This investigation involved members of DEA Chicago Office, Kane County Sheriff’s Office, McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, and McHenry County States Attorney’s Office.

“The seizure of these illegal drugs, and arrests of the violators during these joint law enforcement efforts show the power of partnering together to attack those who funnel their narcotics into our communities,” DEA Special Agent in Charge Brian McKnight said.
